THANK YOU!!!

Sincere thanks for the outpouring of support during this exciting time!  It was a wonderful experience for all, and very energizing for Margaret and her Committee.  We couldn't have done it without you!

We'll be updating later with some special thank-you's, but for now, sincere congratulations are due to Belmont's new Town Clerk, Ellen O'Brien Cushman.  Additionally, we will enjoy other new leadership in town in the form of Mark Paollilo, our new Selectman, and Dan Scharfman and Laurie Slap, new members of the School Committee.  Our town is so fortunate to have such capable and dedicated folks at the helm.  Bravo, all!

Campaign Highlights

Margaret's interview on Belmont cable was terrific.  Thanks to the Belmont Media Center for their great work throughout this campaign!   http://belmontmedia.org/election2010/#i

Take a look at Margaret's final response to the Belmont Citizen-Herald's Question of the week, at http://www.wickedlocal.com/belmont/newsnow/x38429053/Double-Question-of-the-Week-for-the-candidates.  It's clear from Margaret's gracious, enthusiastic and positive response that she was a gracious, enthusiastic and positive candidate for Town Clerk.  On to the next challenge!

Special thanks to the Committees for Political Education of both IBEW Local 2222 and the National Association of Government Employees/SEIU for their endorsements of Margaret.  It's an honor to have such enthusiastic union support.  Many thanks to the leadership and membership of these two unions for such a vote of confidence!

CAMPAIGN LEADERSHIP  Our campaign is fortunate to have great leadership, thanks to Chairman Rich Lettiere, Treasurer Sue Morris, and Campaign Manager Alicia McDonnell.  Each brings a unique expertise to the campaign.

Rich Lettiere is a lifelong Belmont resident who attended the Belmont Schools with Margaret.  He and his wife, Denise, and daughter, Jordan, live on Beech Street and Jordan attends the Butler School.  Rich recently worked tirelessly to oversee Belmont Second Soccer's extensive upgrade of Town Field, a project close to his heart not only because of his daughter's involvement in youth soccer, but also because he himself enjoyed Town Field while growing up here.  His dedication to the Belmont community is unsurpassed, and he is an invaluable asset to Margaret's campaign for Town Clerk.

Sue Morris and her family live on Richardson Road, and have proudly called Belmont home for well over a decade.  Sue is well-known to many as a founder of the wonderful local group "Mothers and More;" she has proven her dedication to this community and made a positive impact on the lives of countless local moms and families.  On the professional side, Sue is a talented Interior Decorator and brings her business acumen to Margaret's campaign.  She is indeed a Mother AND More!

Alicia McDonnell and Margaret have been "partners in crime" since their days of toiling in the Dorchester Court as Assistant District Attorneys.  While prosecuting countless criminal matters in one of the state's busiest courts, Alicia and Margaret delighted in the satisfaction of making the wonderful neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and South Boston just a little bit safer for the families and businesses thriving there.  Alicia's later work as Legal Advisor to the Boston Police Commissioner and her current work in urban real estate development provide the campaign with a unique and valuable skill set.
